Craig was the seventh child and fourth son born to Joseph Scott and Ann Dupong.
He was born
6 December 1875 at 9:45 p.m. in Glasgow, Scotland.
It is believed that Craig died in South Africa during the Boer War (1899-1902).

Craig was born at 6 Cumberland Street, Glasgow. His father Joseph was not present at his birth so his mother's mark was witnessed by the Assistant Registrar James Moore.

In 1891 he was living with his parents at 14 Boat Vennell, Ayr and he was a scholar. In 1901 he lived at home with his parents at 8 Octavia St, Port Glasgow and his occupation was listed as a plumber.

The Family Grapevine has it that he was killed in the Boer War in South Africa.

To our knowledge he never married and had no family.
