Born July 23, 1919 in Maisonneuve District Montréal, Québec.
Died Saturday October 12, 1996 in Joliette, Quebec.
Son of Hugh Dupong Scott and Elizabeth Logan.
He married Helen Wighton on September 4, 1956 and sadly Helen died in
November 1957. On September 19, 1959 he married longtime family friend,
Florence Hillrich, a childhood skating partner whom he used to date in
their teenage years.
Hugh attended Maisonneuve School on Morgan Blvd. in Montréal. He
furthered his education at Montréal Tech School after having gone to
work at Imperial Oil Ltd. (now ESSO) at age 14. He was with Imperial
Oil Ltd. for 45 years, the last four of which were spent with ESSO at
Syncrude Tar Sands in Fort McMurray, Alberta.
As a young lad, Hugh enjoyed all sports, particularly swimming and ice
skating and when in his prime he was considered to be a very good
golfer and until his death enjoyed a game of golf.
During World War II he served in the Royal Canadian Navy among his
medals and decorations he received "Mention-in-Dispatch" for
distinguished service.
Hugh was a warden at Christ Church in Rawdon, Quebec and was always
willing to do a good deed for anyone. He was a past District Deputy
Grand Master of the Masonic Order and was a 32 Mason of the Selkirk
Rifle.
Hugh passed away peacefully in Joliette on October 12 1996 and is laid
to rest at the Anglican Church Cemetery.
