We have tried to ensure that appropriate privacy is respected.  The application we will be using on the web (phpGedView) is set so that no details are openly displayed for those who are living - you can see that someone has a number of children and grandchildren, but the word ‘Private’ is placed where normally there would be information.  One problem that this gives us is that, if you have sent us information without dates or indication that individuals are dead, you may not be able to see the information because the program will assume that all individuals are living.

There is also the facility within the application to make specific types of information private or particular pieces of information private.  If you find that some information about one of your ancestors is visible that you would rather mark as private, please let us know.
