The Scott Family Web Site was established in the winter of 2004. The primary goal at the time was to allow for easier communication and to provide the most up-to-date information about the 2004 Scott Family Reunion in Rawdon, Quebec. Since the humble beginnings, we have published our genealogy back to 1795, created a thriving on-line community with an interactive message board and photo galleries. We, receive thousands of hits from around the world with questions about our genealogy or old friends trying to re-connect.
The original web site was hand-coded HTML. Updates were tedious and could only be updated from one computer which housed the master files. The latest incarnation of the Scott Family Web will put the power to create and modify content in your hands! Every Scott family member who wishes to have access to publish news, photos, forum postings or blogs on the Scott Family Web site will be able to do so.
I encourage you to create a user account and share your stories, ideas and photos!

This site is still in progress. There are still many photos to be
moved from the old site and content to be developed. Bookmark us and
check back regularly! Better yet, submit some photos, news and bios
for your branch of the Scott Family! The Forum postings all moved properly, but the images will need to be re-connected. This work is in progress. Please be patienet.

and tweaks made.
If you have any problems navigating the site, registering or posting, or
feature requests please contact the webteam at scottfamilyweb dot com or click

The site will have some growing pains, but please bear with us. I
think you will agree that it will be worth the wait.

We have tried to ensure that appropriate privacy is respected. The
application we will be using on the web (phpGedView) is set so that no details are
openly displayed for those who are living - you can see that someone
has a number of children and grandchildren, but the word ‘Private’ is
placed where normally there would be information. One problem that
this gives us is that, if you have sent us information without dates or
indication that individuals are dead, you may not be able to see the
information because the program will assume that all individuals are
living.
There is also the facility within the application to make specific
types of information private or particular pieces of information
private. If you find that some information about one of your ancestors
is visible that you would rather mark as private, please let us know.
